Saudi Public Investment Fund and Consortium approved to acquire EA for $55 billion

The European Commission has approved the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) and consortium to acquire Electronic Arts (EA) for $55 billion, with the deal expected to be completed on August 4th. Electronic Arts confirms that it has obtained all necessary regulatory approvals, and this transaction is jointly completed by Saudi Public Investment Fund, Silver Lake Capital, and Affinity Partners. Turqi Alnowaiser, Vice President and Head of International Investment at PIF, stated that PIF is committed to building and supporting an ecosystem that connects players, developers, and IP creators. EA announced that this transaction is the largest all cash privatization acquisition in history.
