Ethereum EIP-8363 staking reward reduction proposal sparks controversy over community economic model
According to Cointelegraph, the Ethereum improvement proposal EIP-8363 aims to reduce the network's new issuance by gradually lowering staking rewards, which has been opposed by a large number of community members. At present, there are about 41.5 million ETH in Ethereum in a pledged state, accounting for about 34% of the total supply, with a pledged yield of about 2.67%. Supporters believe that reducing issuance will help improve the long-term monetary properties of ETH, while opponents argue that market mechanisms will naturally limit staking growth and there is no need to adjust issuance policies.
