Fintech company Revolut has obtained a French banking license, becoming its second fully licensed banking entity in the European Union. The license was jointly reviewed and approved by the French Prudential Regulation and Resolution Authority (ACPR) and the European Central Bank. Revolut Bank S.A. will provide loans, mortgages, and regulated savings products in France, and plans to expand to Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and Spain. Revolut has invested over 1 billion euros in the Western European market and plans to establish its Western European headquarters in Paris by 2027. Revolut obtained a full banking license in the UK in March 2026 and a full banking license in Australia in July. Its valuation rose to $115 billion after secondary stock trading in 2026.
