The White House has developed an artificial intelligence framework that requires cutting-edge AI models developed by US laboratories to undergo federal government security testing before release. The framework currently only involves closed source models from companies such as Anthropic and OpenAI, but White House officials have revealed that in the coming months, the framework will cover open-source models that reach the same level of cutting-edge capabilities as Anthropic's Mythos level models and OpenAI's GPT-5.6.
