Broadcom's stock price closed down nearly 6%, raising concerns about the debt scale of AI customer financing platforms
Broadcom closed down nearly 6% on Friday, with Bank of America analysts estimating that its financing platform for AI chip customers will accumulate $370 billion in senior debt by mid-2029, including approximately $150 billion in new issuances in 2027. Broadcom has provided guarantees for some customers' lease payments, with a first transaction guarantee scale of approximately 29 billion US dollars. This financing model is led by Apollo Global Management and Blackstone Group, providing $35 billion in funding for the Broadcom AIXPV platform, with the first funding supporting Anthropic's construction of over 1 gigawatt of computing capacity.
