**[Nansen: Starknet's Average Daily Transactions Reach 239,000 in Q2, STRK20 and strkBTC Drive Ecosystem Upgrade]** Odaily Planet Daily News – Blockchain data analytics platform Nansen has released the "Starknet H1 2026 Report," stating that in the first half of 2026, Starknet completed its strategic transition from a high-performance Layer 2 network to a "privacy-preserving execution layer." The introduction of the STRK20 privacy framework and Bitcoin asset strkBTC marked the most significant upgrades to the ecosystem. The report highlights that Starknet, as an Ethereum-based ZK-Rollup network, achieves high throughput and low transaction costs by generating STARK proofs off-chain and verifying them on-chain. Its smart contracts are written in the Cairo language, specifically designed for verifiable computation, and support native account abstraction functionality. In the first half of this year, Starknet launched the v0.14.2 upgrade, introducing the SNIP-36 protocol to lay the technical foundation for private transactions. This upgrade enables the network to directly verify off-chain execution proofs, allowing confidential state transfers without exposing account balances or counterparty information. Meanwhile, SNIP-37 adjusted the network's economic model by increasing storage costs and reducing base gas fees to optimize incentives for long-term state growth. In terms of privacy applications, Starknet rolled out the STRK20 privacy framework, enabling users to convert any ERC-20 assets into encrypted balances for private transfers, transactions, and DeFi interactions. This system is based on zero-knowledge proof technology and incorporates a Viewing Key mechanism for compliance audits, supporting targeted information disclosure in regulatory scenarios while protecting user privacy. On-chain data shows that Starknet's average daily transaction volume in Q2 2026 was approximately 239,000, with an average of 50,000 active addresses per day. A total of 22.5 million transactions were completed during this period, involving around 71,000 users. Among these, DEX aggregator AVNU contributed approximately 14 million transactions, accounting for 62.2% of the total transaction volume, while gaming infrastructure Cartridge contributed 6.57 million transactions. Together, these two accounted for approximately 91% of the network's transaction activity.
