The US Treasury Department has announced that it will at least double the scale of liquidity support repurchase operations for long-term nominal coupon securities, covering two maturity ranges of 10 to 20 years and 20 to 30 years. At present, the maximum scale of each operation is 2 billion US dollars, and in the future, the scale of each operation will be increased to at least 4 billion US dollars. The adjustment will take effect on September 9, 2026 and will be implemented during the remaining time of this refinancing quarter. The US Treasury Department will provide more information on the future repurchase scale at the next quarterly refinancing meeting on November 4, 2026. The Ministry of Finance will announce the updated temporary treasury bond bond repurchase arrangement later.
