According to The Block, a report from TRM Labs reveals that the application of artificial intelligence in crypto crimes has grown by 40% year-over-year, primarily driven by fraudulent activities. Crypto hackers are leveraging AI for vulnerability analysis, social engineering attacks, and infiltration. In the first half of 2026, there were 201 digital asset hacking incidents, with approximately 75% of losses stemming from 4% of the events. Activities linked to North Korea caused losses of around $600 million, accounting for 61% of the total losses in the first half of the year. Artificial intelligence has lowered the barriers to crime and expanded the scale of attacks.
