[South Korea Plans to Launch New Securities Market in Mid-November, STO Market Reaches Key Turning Point] Odaily Planet Daily News: The Korea Exchange (KRX) plans to launch a new securities market on November 16, allowing assets such as artwork, real estate, and music copyrights to be traded through securities accounts like stocks. Reportedly, the Korea Exchange is currently advancing the construction of the relevant trading system and preparing market participants. A six-week simulation trading period will be conducted from October 6 to November 13, and the official market opening date may be adjusted based on the approval progress of listed products by financial regulatory authorities. Once the market opens, investors will be able to buy and sell through securities company accounts, with trading hours consistent with the stock market. Analysts believe that South Korea's Security Token Offering (STO) industry is at a critical turning point. Although the new securities listed for trading in November will temporarily adopt the traditional electronic securities method for issuance and registration, tokenized securities based on blockchain distributed ledger technology will gradually roll out after the relevant laws officially take effect in February 2027.
