According to data from The Block, the daily trading volume of the centralized cryptocurrency exchange (CEX) doubled to $37 billion within five days, but still remains below the peak of $105 billion set on October 10, 2025. The CEX trading volume has reached $490 billion so far in August, lower than the $670 billion in July. Spot ETFs and digital asset treasuries have dragged down CEX trading volume, with demand for altcoins flowing towards CEX. Bitcoin and Ethereum rose by over 23% and 30% respectively last week, and the market value of altcoins has increased by about 13% over the same period. DEXs such as Hyperliquid and Lighter are diverting CEX trading volume.
