Venezuela discusses withdrawing from OPEC with the aim of deepening relations with the United States
According to Bloomberg, Venezuela is discussing plans to withdraw from OPEC with US officials, and a final decision has not yet been made. US officials envision establishing an oil power through an alliance between the US and Venezuela to weaken OPEC's influence. Venezuela is currently not subject to OPEC production restrictions, and withdrawing would exempt it from future production quotas, thereby increasing production and lowering oil prices. The United States will also advance plans targeting Venezuelan oil.
