Solana proposes SIMD-0437, the first functional switch to be activated on the test network

Anza, the core development team of Solana, activated the first feature switch of SIMD-0437 proposal on the testnet. The proposal includes five feature switches, with the goal of reducing Solana's storage cost per byte by 90%. After completion, lamports_per-byte will be reduced from 6960 to 696, and the rent free deposit for token accounts will be reduced from approximately $0.16 to $0.016.
