Numa Lunah: Hacked using malicious link provided by Claude

According to Bitcoin.com News, Numa Lunah, co-founder of Refi Hub, stated that she was hacked for installing an application using a download link provided by Claude, which pointed to a counterfeit website and bundled with malicious software. Numa Lunah cleared and reinstalled the laptop without discovering any sensitive information leakage, but found the contaminated Claude Code skill file SKILL.md in the backup, which contains instructions for stealing credentials. Microsoft Defender Experts warns that attackers have turned to large language models to answer poisoning, including recommending malicious download links, AI branded counterfeit installation programs, and contaminated code libraries and proxy skills.
