Nagel: Slowing core inflation is a positive signal, with consistent expectations for next week's interest rate hike

--

ECB Managing Director Nagel stated that the slowdown in core inflation in the eurozone in August is a positive signal, with a decrease in core inflation rates and a slowdown in service sector inflation. Currently, there is no second round effect in core inflation rates. Nagel said that the European Central Bank's interest rate decision next week is consistent with financial market expectations, and the market has fully digested the expectation of a 25 basis point rate hike. The inflation rate in the eurozone rose to 3.3% in August, while the core inflation rate excluding food and energy dropped to 2.4%.
