Pentagon: Anthropic is still seen as a supply chain risk

Emil Michael, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Research and Engineering at the Pentagon, stated on social media that restrictions on the AI company Anthropic are still in effect and the company is still considered a supply chain risk by the Pentagon and defense industrial bases. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has stated that Anthropic has resolved legacy issues from the Trump administration and its relationship with the government has improved. Anthropic has faced restrictions due to government concerns about its model being abused to enhance its network attack capabilities.
