Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin introduced the EIP-8288 proposal, which plans to introduce a recursive STARK memory pool mechanism in the I-star upgrade after Hegota, moving signature verification and proof generation out of the Ethereum main execution path. This scheme aims to reduce on chain overhead through recursive aggregation within the memory pool, lower the cost of quantum secure signatures and privacy transactions, compress the gas consumption of privacy transactions from tens of millions to tens of thousands, and support new signature or proof schemes such as Falcon and ML-DSA without changing the EVM, while achieving abstraction of private accounts.
