The Singapore Exchange has been authorized by the US CFTC to open up crypto perpetual futures to US institutions
The Singapore Exchange (SGX) has been authorized by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to allow US institutional investors to trade perpetual futures on Bitcoin and Ethereum. KC Lam, the head of encrypted derivatives at the Singapore Exchange (SGX), stated that this authorization connects traditional financial trading institutions in the United States with liquidity pools in Asia. The Singapore Exchange (SGX) will launch perpetual futures for Bitcoin (BTP) and Ethereum (ETP) in November 2025, with a cumulative trading volume of $5.8 billion as of August. The Singapore Exchange (SGX) is expected to begin providing services to US clients in the next 1-2 months and does not accept stablecoins as collateral.
