Arthur Hayes: I don’t pay attention to any Bitcoin technical indicators In an August 23, 2026 interview with Altcoin Daily, BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes (@CryptoHayes) shared that he rarely does technical analysis for Bitcoin. The only U.S. stock analyst he follows is Milton Berg, as Bitcoin currently largely tracks the U.S. stock market. He believes that if the logic behind the U.S. stock market collapses, due to the similarity in assets held by investors, margin calls would lead to the selling of highly liquid assets, with Bitcoin being the first to go. Therefore, he observes when Milton Berg buys and sells to gauge the overall market environment, but he doesn’t have a technical analysis system specifically for Bitcoin. In his view, historical highs like $60K, $100K, and the previous $125K or $126K are key levels. Between these critical points, he doesn’t rely on technicals to trade short-term swings. He never looks at the 200-week moving average or trades based on technical indicators. Instead, he focuses on the overall sentiment, macro narratives, and market mood—entering the market when sentiment is just emerging, rather than waiting for it to peak. He also seeks out assets that are overlooked by the market, which is one of the reasons he likes Ethereum. Source: Altcoin Daily
