Net international capital inflow to the United States in July was $83.7 billion

The US Treasury Department released its July International Capital Flow Report, which showed a total net inflow of $83.7 billion in US securities and bank statements from overseas for the month, including a net inflow of $73.5 billion in private capital and $10.2 billion in official capital inflows from overseas. In July, foreign investors' holdings of US long-term securities increased by $40.6 billion, while US investors' holdings of foreign long-term securities increased by $68.5 billion. In July, foreign investors' holdings of US treasury bond increased by US $38.8 billion, and all US short-term securities and other custodian bonds denominated in US dollars increased by US $65 billion. Bank of America's net US dollar liabilities to foreign investors increased by $46.6 billion in July.
