[Paul Atkins: Advancing 24-Hour Trading for U.S. Stocks, Tokenization Aids Real-Time Inventory Management]
On September 17, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Paul Atkins stated that the SEC is advancing preparations to expand 24-hour trading in the U.S. stock market. Paul Atkins noted that DTCC has launched a 23×5 trade capture system, the industry has established overnight price ranges and risk control requirements for relevant trading centers, and the Securities Information Processor (SIP) is preparing to release overnight price information. Tokenization is expected to help the securities industry achieve real-time inventory management, improve efficiency, reduce settlement failures, and lower the risk of naked short selling.
