The various development organizations and engineering teams in the Zcash community have reached an agreement on the NU7 network upgrade. The plan is to complete the code before September 30th, activate it on the test network on October 6th, and decide on the main network activation time on October 20th. The main network is tentatively scheduled to be launched on November 5th. NU7 includes shortening the block interval to 25 seconds (ZIP-218), disabling v4 transactions, and integrating ZIP-234 alternatives and ZIP-235 issuance mechanisms. The upgrade does not include new transaction formats, and infrastructure such as full nodes, indexes, and block browsers need to be adjusted.
