Solana lowered the target slot time from 300 milliseconds to 250 milliseconds on September 18th, completing the third round of acceleration and increasing block output speed by nearly 17%, while the overall network throughput remained unchanged. This adjustment belongs to the third phase of the SIMD-0525 proposal, with the fixed epoch duration of 432000 slots reduced from about 36 hours to about 30 hours, and the staking rewards and validator scheduling accelerated synchronously.
