Cross party lawmakers in the United States propose a new bill to prohibit the federal government from procuring Chinese made optical transceivers

On September 25th, a bipartisan group in the US Senate proposed a bill to prohibit the federal government from installing Chinese made components used for data transmission in artificial intelligence data centers in sensitive systems, mainly targeting optical transceiver modules produced by manufacturers such as Eoptolink.
