Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities raises interest rate expectations ahead of schedule, Bank of Japan members say pace of rate hikes is faster than expected
Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities has advanced the expected time for the Bank of Japan to raise interest rates from January and June 2027 to December 2026 and April 2027. The securities analyst stated that market expectations for the Federal Reserve's interest rate hike have increased, and the pace of the Bank of Japan's adjustment of monetary policy support has accelerated. According to the minutes of the July meeting of the Bank of Japan, a policy committee member pointed out that given the underlying inflation approaching 2% and the need to pay attention to the risk of price increases, the pace of interest rate hikes is faster than market expectations.
