Vitalik Buterin: Egota upgrade could be Ethereum's last regular hard fork

Vitalik Buterin stated that the Hegota upgrade planned for next year may be Ethereum's last regular hard fork, after which work will shift towards recursive STARK, automated formal verification, highly optimized consensus, and quantum security. Hegota is in the early planning stage and includes two changes: FOCIL and framework transactions. Ethereum's 2030 goal includes block generation in 4-8 seconds and final confirmation in 8-32 seconds.
