Chainlink announces a new connectivity framework that allows banks to access SWIFT blockchain ledgers and retain transaction signature keys through the Chainlink platform. This framework utilizes the Chainlink runtime environment (CRE) to coordinate the interaction between institutional systems and ledgers, with banks adopting a self signed mode. The SWIFT ledger supports 7 × 24 tokenized deposit payments, and the final settlement is completed through the existing real-time full settlement mechanism. Currently, 17 banks including ANZ, HSBC, Citigroup, Standard Chartered, and UBS are preparing to pilot tokenized deposits on the SWIFT ledger.
