[U.S. Federal Court Issues Preliminary Injunction to Block Illinois Regulation of Kalshi Sports Contracts] Judge Pacold of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois has issued a preliminary injunction in a lawsuit involving Coinbase, Kalshi, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul. The injunction prevents Illinois from classifying Kalshi's sports event contracts as gambling for regulatory purposes. The judge stated that Kalshi's event contracts fall under the definition of swap contracts as outlined in the Commodity Exchange Act, over which the CFTC has exclusive jurisdiction. This federal law takes precedence over Illinois' sports gambling regulations. The court has requested both parties to submit briefs regarding the dispute over fees, and a final ruling has not yet been made.

[Escalation of Middle East Geopolitical Tensions, 22 Million People Globally Face Food Insecurity] On October 3, tensions in the Middle East escalated as the Saudi-led coalition intercepted and destroyed three ballistic missiles launched by Houthi forces and planned an offensive to break the blockade of the Red Sea shipping lanes. The Houthi forces disclosed that Saudi Arabia had carried out 94 airstrikes and missile attacks on Yemen in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 1,350. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it is prepared to respond to threats. U.S. President Trump remarked that Iran's situation is unfavorable, and the U.S. is deploying additional Patriot systems to Saudi Arabia and Qatar in preparation. Pakistan's Foreign Minister noted that political engagement with the Houthi forces will be discussed next week. The United Nations has warned that the worsening situation in the Middle East could lead to an additional 22 million people globally facing food insecurity. (Source: Jinsix Data)

The G7 decided to release 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil reserves within four months. Russia is considering partially lifting diesel export restrictions, and President Trump stated that a diesel export ban will not be implemented. The Middle East situation has disrupted Iran's expansion plans, and OPEC+ has postponed its oil capacity assessment. (Source: Jin10) AI Analysis: The significant slowdown in nonfarm payroll growth and the rise in the unemployment rate directly reveal that the U.S. labor market is undergoing substantial cooling. Weak employment data has undermined the momentum of economic expansion, forcing the market to reassess the Federal Reserve's policy trajectory. Although officials' rhetoric leans hawkish, the deterioration of the labor market has become a core factor constraining the room for rate hikes. This data performance will significantly suppress tightening expectations and prompt a flow of funds into safe-haven assets to address the risks of economic slowdown.
