Just came across a post from @Acurast's official Twitter. Coincidentally, I've been researching this project recently and also joined the @Acurast × XHunt creator event. So, I decided to check out the Laya Mail Sorter Demo. The gameplay is super simple: throw an email in, and Laya determines whether it's spam or a normal email. It completes the classification in just a few milliseconds, and the entire task runs solely on one Acurast phone. No data centers, no need to send requests to traditional cloud services. This makes me feel that this demo is more convincing than just talking about idle phones contributing computing power. Because, in the end, it all comes down to one question: Can a single phone actually get real work done? From the Mail Sorter example, it seems like it can already handle practical AI inference tasks. And this is what I find interesting about Acurast's model. Phones provide computing resources ↓ Acurast organizes devices into a Compute Network ↓ Apps like Laya run real tasks on it ↓ Compute Providers earn ACU rewards based on the rules So, when it comes to ACU's value, I'll be paying more attention to whether "real tasks are actually running." The demo running is just the first step. What’s more worth watching is how many developers continue to use it and whether these computing demands can truly form long-term network demand. Regular users can also participate from another angle: If you have idle, supported devices, you can run the Acurast Processor, become a Compute Provider, and provide computing power according to the official rules to earn rewards. The @Acurast × XHunt creator event is also ongoing right now. The total prize pool is 200,000 ACU, and the top 150 participants in the final Impact Share will split the pool. You can also join the official leaderboard event by registering on the official site.
