[Federal Reserve Meeting Minutes Show Most Officials Expect Another Rate Hike Before Year-End] The Federal Reserve meeting minutes reveal that most participating officials anticipate raising the target range for the federal funds rate again before the end of this year to curb inflation above the target level. (Source: Jin10 Data) AI Interpretation: The Federal Reserve has clearly signaled a hawkish stance through the minutes, aiming to suppress persistent inflation via tight monetary policy. Officials' consensus on rate hikes within the year directly shatters market expectations of a policy pivot, further reinforcing the outlook for prolonged high interest rates. This statement significantly enhances the appeal of dollar-denominated assets and imposes sustained valuation pressure on risk assets. The firm tightening of the policy path will force the market to reprice the peak interest rate, thereby intensifying financial market volatility.

[Minutes from the Federal Reserve's September Meeting Show Divergence Among Officials on Rate Hike Justifications] Minutes from the Federal Reserve's September meeting reveal that policymakers were divided on the justification for raising interest rates. Although the meeting unanimously voted to raise rates by 25 basis points, participants differed on whether this move was a precautionary measure or a shift toward tighter policy. Some officials believed a rate hike was necessary to curb the impact of energy and other price shocks, while more hawkish members emphasized guarding against demand-driven inflation. Additionally, two participants supported the hike due to an increase in the neutral rate estimate. Most officials viewed the current policy rate as either non-restrictive or only slightly restrictive and anticipated that another rate hike would be appropriate before the end of the year. (Source: Jin10 Data) AI Interpretation: The Federal Reserve's meeting minutes clearly reveal deep divisions within the decision-making body regarding the tightening path, directly weakening market certainty about the future trajectory of interest rates. Differences in officials' perceptions of inflation drivers suggest that future monetary policy adjustments will face more complex challenges. The restrictive nature of the current policy rate was questioned by most officials, leaving clear policy room for further rate hikes. This hawkish stance directly dampens premature market expectations of an easing cycle and reinforces the policy tone of maintaining a high-interest-rate environment over the long term.
