Anthropic releases Claude Haiku 5.5: Costs down by about 75% compared to Haiku 4.5 Anthropic has launched Claude Haiku 5.5, calling it the cheapest, fastest, and most capable small model to date, with average operating costs approximately 75% lower than Haiku 4.5. Pricing is set at $0.10 per million tokens for input and $0.50 for output, compared to $1 and $5 respectively for Haiku 4.5. In terms of performance, Haiku 5.5 scored 72.4% on the OSWorld 2.1 computer operations benchmark (Haiku 4.5 scored 15.7%, GPT-6 Luna scored 48.9%) and 39.2% on the Terminal-Bench 4.0 coding benchmark (GPT-6 Luna scored 16.4%). It’s also the first Haiku model to support adjustable reasoning intensity, making it ideal for high-frequency tasks like summarization and classification. It can also be used as a sub-agent alongside Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5.
