U.S. Cash Bond Market Closed Next Monday, U.S. Stocks and Treasury Futures to Trade Normally

--

Golden Finance reports that on October 9, the holiday schedule of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) indicates that the U.S. cash bond market will be closed next Monday (October 12). October 12 is Columbus Day in the United States, one of the federal holidays, though holiday arrangements vary across regions. For financial markets, U.S. stock markets will remain open, and CME's U.S. Treasury futures will trade as usual, but the U.S. cash bond market will be closed for the entire day. U.S. cash bonds and Treasury futures are not the same type of trading instruments: cash bonds refer to actual issued U.S. Treasury bonds, corporate bonds, commercial papers, etc., while Treasury futures are standardized futures contracts based on U.S. Treasury bonds.
