Former Mt. Gox CEO Mark Karpeles has warned that there are counterfeit Ledger devices on the market with hidden SIM cards that can intercept mnemonic words and cause funds to be stolen. This type of device can pass the official genuine inspection of Ledger, and its hardware supply chain has been invaded. Mark Karpeles inspected a device from Malaysia with intact packaging and an implanted device hidden beneath the screen. Mark Karpeles' warning received 90000 views, followed by fund transfers targeting multiple wallets.
