[Amp Integrates Claude Subscriptions, Underlying Model Switched to Claude Code] According to a report by Jinse Finance on October 10, the AI programming tool Amp announced that it now supports Claude Pro/Max subscriptions, offering free access to all users. When creating a new task, users can select the 'Claude Code' mode and link their Claude account. The model usage will directly count toward the existing subscription quota, eliminating the need to purchase additional credits from Amp. The new mode operates the official Claude Code via the Claude Agent SDK while retaining Amp's features such as cloud computers, task sharing, multi-user collaboration, and agent orchestration. Only this mode supports Claude subscriptions; Amp's original Medium, High, and Ultra modes are not included. Local operation remains free, but cloud computers still require payment. Anthropic had previously restricted third-party tools from using Claude subscriptions but paused related policy adjustments in June of this year. In October, it confirmed that third-party applications could still utilize subscription quotas. However, the official development documentation still requires third-party products to obtain prior approval to provide Claude login or subscription quota access.
