[Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission Releases Financial Review Report for the Securities Industry: Virtual Asset Trading Commission Revenue Down 13.5% Quarter-on-Quarter] The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has released a financial review report for the securities industry, revealing steady growth in Hong Kong's securities sector during the first half of this year, with net profit increasing by 21% to HK$51.7 billion. The total net commission revenue and interest income from securities trading, futures and options trading, leveraged foreign exchange trading, and virtual asset trading rose by 13%, from HK$40.1 billion in the second half of 2025 to HK$45.4 billion in the first half of 2026. Additionally, the total commission revenue reported from virtual asset trading in the first half of 2026 amounted to HK$99.3 million, a decrease of HK$15.5 million compared to HK$114.8 million in the second half of 2025, representing a quarter-on-quarter decline of 13.5%.
