Chain-link investigator ZachXBT has identified French bank Crédit Mutuel Arkéa as the main perpetrator in the recent $133 million cryptocurrency theft. On November 2nd, $106 million flowed out of multiple centralized exchange accounts belonging to the bank, withdrawn in USDC and USDT, with some converted to ETH and Monero; subsequently, another $27 million was transferred out, mostly through Kraken hot wallets. The bank has total assets exceeding $235 billion, and its clients include Stripe. It has not publicly responded to the incident. LayerZero announced that the channel for exchanging STG for ZRO will be closed on December 15.
