Crypto.com and Novig sue Missouri for suspension of law enforcement actions
Crypto.com 'predictive market trading platform and Novig are suing Missouri officials in federal court, demanding a ban on the state taking enforcement action against their sports event contracts. Missouri Attorney General Katherine Hanawe previously requested that relevant platforms stop providing sports event contracts to residents of the state, or obtain licenses and pay a 10% tax burden. Crypto.com and Novig argue that the Commodity Exchange Act grants exclusive jurisdiction to the CFTC and takes precedence over state laws. Novig has requested the court to issue a preliminary injunction during the litigation period to maintain the status quo.
