The Bank of Japan (BOJ) is expected to keep its policy rate unchanged at 1.25% at its October meeting. BOJ Governor Kazuo Ueda hinted that rates will rise towards a neutral level. Board member Junko Koeda stated that the central bank should not be overly cautious about raising interest rates. Rates are expected to rise to 1.50% in December or January, and to 1.75% in March or April. There is disagreement among board members between Hajime Takada and Naoki Tamura, and between Toshiro Asada and Ayano Sato. Tokyo's October CPI, including three key indicators, is expected to be between 2.7% and 2.8%. (Source: Jinshi)
