The SEC's comment period for its crypto asset regulatory proposals has ended; Bitwise and Hyperliquid's Policy Center have submitted their comments.
The public comment period for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) proposed "Crypto Asset Regulation" closed on Tuesday. Bitwise and the Hyperliquid Policy Center submitted comments urging the SEC to provide clearer rules on issues such as whether tokens are subject to securities laws, airdrops, token buybacks, and secondary market intermediaries. The Hyperliquid Policy Center called for making the proposed safe harbor more workable, while commentators, including former SEC enforcement officials, advocated for the proposal to be withdrawn.
