The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission requires licensed institutions to strengthen AI network threat protection

According to a circular from the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, licensed institutions need to strengthen their cybersecurity measures to address emerging threats driven by cutting-edge artificial intelligence models. The circular pointed out that the rapid development of AI models may lead to more frequent and complex cyber attacks, increasing operational risks for institutions, employees, and customers. Last year, the number of cyber attack incidents in Hong Kong recorded double-digit growth.
