Adam Iza admits to planning kidnapping and multiple financial crimes

California cryptocurrency executive Adam Iza has admitted to planning an attempted kidnapping of Veer Chetal's parents, involving Veer Chetal's involvement in a $245 million Bitcoin theft. Veer Chetal and others impersonated technical support personnel and stole 4100 bitcoins worth approximately $245 million from Washington residents at the time. Adam Iza and his accomplices attempted to obtain some of the stolen money through kidnapping. In addition, he also admitted to stealing over $370 million through fraudulent access to Meta accounts between 2020 and 2022. The prosecutor is seeking a sentence of at least 14 years in prison.
