EU plans to sanction 11 Russian related crypto platforms

--

According to Bits.media, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas stated that the EU will restrict 11 cryptocurrency platforms in the 21st round of sanctions, accusing them of assisting Russia in evading international sanctions. The new measures will also tighten the ban on third countries providing cryptocurrency services and prohibit trading with the aforementioned platforms, but the specific list has not been announced. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the new sanctions are aimed at cracking down on structures that support Russia in maintaining international financial channels. In addition, the sanctions also involve about 90 Russian banks, of which 31 may face a comprehensive trading ban.
