On June 17th, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Alaghi. Wang Yi welcomes the first phase memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, stating that military force cannot resolve disputes, and dialogue is the correct path. Wang Yi reiterated China's support for Iran's legitimate claims and its sovereignty and security, supported Pakistan and international mediation efforts, and stated that China has taken actions to end the war and promote peace.
