EU extends economic sanctions against Russia for 12 months for the first time

According to CCTV News, the European Council has issued a statement extending economic sanctions against Russia until July 31, 2026. This is the first time that the EU has extended the sanctions period from 6 months to 12 months, covering areas such as trade, finance, energy, industry, transportation, and luxury goods. Russia has not yet responded to this.
