The Thai Special Investigation Agency has issued an arrest warrant for Chinese businessman Wang Yicheng, accusing him of belonging to a criminal organization that uses illegal cryptocurrency mining for fraud and money laundering through online gambling. A Reuters investigation report in 2023 showed that cryptocurrency wallets related to fraudulent activities had transferred $2 million to Wang Yicheng's account. A spokesperson for the Thai Special Investigation Agency stated that Wang Yicheng was charged with theft and violating computer crime laws in November last year, and it is believed that Wang Yicheng has fled Thailand.
