Samsung Plans to Raise DRAM Prices by 20% in Q3, Manufacturers Confirm Receiving Verbal Notice
According to a report by Jinse Finance on July 3, sources indicate that Samsung Electronics plans to increase the average selling price of DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory) by 20% quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter of this year. "This is true," said a representative from a consumer electronics terminal manufacturer. They revealed that Samsung had already discussed the matter with them in June and has now issued a verbal notice regarding the price hike for DRAM. "The significant price increase in upstream components will be reflected in the terminal prices of finished products, which may suppress certain market demand. However, given that the overall prices of consumer electronics products are currently not high, even with the price hike, it is unlikely to significantly affect user purchasing decisions," the representative added. Another seasoned industry insider also confirmed the news, stating that Samsung's plan to raise DRAM prices by 20% in the third quarter is accurate, and Samsung has already verbally informed some customers of the price adjustment.
