MICRON BREAKS GROUND ON $9.3B AI MEMORY PLANT IN JAPAN MU has started a $9.3 BILLION expansion of its Hiroshima factory to produce high-bandwidth memory for AI chips like Nvidia’s. Shipments are expected around summer 2028, with Japan backing the project with up to ¥500 BILLION in support. Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said: “When American boldness meets Japanese craftsmanship… you get the best in the world.”
