The European Parliament calls for a review of DeFi and NFT regulation, with MiCA's follow-up framework on the agenda

According to Crypto.news, European Parliament members passed a policy stance report on Tuesday, calling on the European Commission to review the possibility of DeFi, staking, crypto lending, NFT, and tokenized financial assets being included in the MiCA framework for subsequent regulation. The report calls on all member states to implement consistent measures and warns that different countries' practices weaken the EU's single market for digital assets. In May, the European Commission launched a public consultation on whether MiCA should be extended to more cryptocurrency activities and reconsider interest bearing stablecoin restrictions. The report holds a positive attitude towards tokenization and Euro stablecoins.
