The next four weeks will be a critical window for the US Congress to pass the Clarity Act

--

According to Crypto in America, the US Senate will enter a window of about four weeks after its resumption to determine whether the Clarity Act can be passed. The bill needs to complete the merged version text, Senate debate, and vote before the August recess, and receive at least 60 votes in support. The focus of the negotiations includes whether to retain the exemption clause for non custodial developers in the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act, as well as establishing an ethical framework for conflicts of interest among officials around US President Trump's interests in the cryptocurrency industry. The death of Senator Lindsey Graham and the absence of Mitch McConnell have weakened Republican votes and increased the importance of garnering support from Democratic lawmakers.
