According to US House Speaker Mike Johnson, he plans to submit a continuing resolution (CR) to provide funding for the government to the House for a vote next week, thus kicking off the funding battle before the September 30th deadline. On Thursday morning in New York, Mike Johnson said of the ongoing resolution, "This is the current plan." Congress needs to provide funding to the government before the end of the fiscal year, otherwise it will fall into another government shutdown before the November midterm elections.
