62% of US stablecoin holders convert back to US dollars due to merchants not accepting it
According to a survey by MNEE Pay and YouGov, 62% of US stablecoin holders have exchanged their stablecoins back to US dollars due to merchants not accepting them, 84% of holders prefer merchants who accept stablecoins, and 54% hold stablecoins for future consumption. 88% of cryptocurrency holders aged 18 to 34 hold stablecoins, while the proportion for those aged 55 and above is 15%. The survey was conducted in April 2026, with a sample of 251 American adults holding cryptocurrencies, of which 103 held stablecoins.
